How you Live

A New Day
Dear God
Thank You for this new day, its beauty and its light.
Thank You for my chance to begin again.
Free me from the limitations of yesterday.
Today may I be reborn.
May I become more fully a reflection of Your radiance.
Give me strength and compassion and courage and wisdom.
Show me the light in myself and others.
May I recognize the good that is available everywhere.
May I be, this day an instrument of love and healing.
Lead me into gentle pastures.
Give me deep peace that I might serve you most deeply.
Amen

Thankful
Psalm 51:16 You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one.
You do not want a burnt offering.
17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.
You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

Today's Turning Point with David Jeremiah
Attic Full of Bees
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16

Matthew 25:2-13
In 1984, a St. Louis woman noticed a few bees buzzing around in her attic. She made no effort to deal with them because there were so few. But over the summer, bees continued to fly in and out of her attic vent while the woman was unaware and unconcerned. Eventually, the whole attic became a hive, and the ceiling of the second-floor bedroom caved in under the weight of hundreds of pounds of honey and thousands of angry bees. Though the woman escaped serious injury, she was unable to repair the damage to her home.
Delaying what is necessary might be the definition of procrastination, but the question we need to ask is, What is taking the place of the thing that is necessary? If we are simply ignoring what needs to be done, wasting time, and not fulfilling our duties, then it is time to tackle the problem of procrastination. If we put off dealing with procrastination, our accumulated neglect will fall in on us like an attic full of bees.
You may delay, but time will not.

Today's Turning Point with David Jeremiah
Giant-Sized Obstacles: Moses and the Sea Way
By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
Hebrews 11:29

James 1:16-20
When Moses found himself trapped between Pharaoh and the Sea, it was the Lord who had led him there. For reasons known only to Himself, God led the Israelites step-by-step into a cul-de-sac where they were suddenly facing Giant Fear. They couldn't get out of their problem, but they could rise above their fears and flex their muscles of faith.
Whenever we find ourselves facing the same giant in a cul-de-sac, our first reaction may be a surge of panic; but we must "stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish" (Exodus 14:13). Realize that the Lord either placed you there or allowed you to be there, for reasons known for now only to Himself. The same God who led you in will lead you out. He allows our faith to be tried. Our trials may seem more than we can bear; but Christ can bear them. When we can't fight for ourselves, the battle belongs to Him; and when we can't swim, He will part the waters.
It is our duty and interest, when we cannot get out of our troubles, yet to get above our fears.

why is it so hard to let God be God.
Look back and thank God.
Look forward and trust God.
Look around and serve God..
Look within and find God!"
God closes doors no man can open and
God opens doors no man can close.

Today's Turning Point with David Jeremiah
Strategic Avoidance Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn away from it and pass on.
When professional athletes are arrested during brawls at places like night clubs and dog fights, we say, "How stupid! Why would they risk their millions of fans—and million-dollar contracts—by deliberately putting themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time?" Yet every one of us is doing the same thing whenever we go anywhere that exposes our own hearts to needless temptation. For each person, the temptation might be something different—the availability of various forms of media alone can present temptations that you know you need to avoid. The Bible says plainly, "Avoid every kind of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:22, NIV). Our sinful natures are drawn like magnets to the things of this world; they seem attractive to us. One significant way to slay temptation is by not placing ourselves in an environment where we'll be tempted. Call it Strategic Avoidance. Proverbs 16:17 says, "The highway of the upright avoids evil; he who guards his way guards his life" (NIV). It's easier to avoid temptation than to resist it.

It's not my plate, It's not my plate
Pastor Howard has to be the best PREACHER I have every heard. he is my preacher and the closest thing I have to a dad right now, he is always there, 10 years ago this past Monday I can see him walking across the yard at my aunt Russ house in Charleston when my mom passed away to say he loved me and he has not stopped loving me. i have not called him in what seems like forever I know he get my blog and I want to tell him how much I love him. this week has been hard loosing my mom. she was always there happy to see me and happy to have me call. always just wanting to talk and let me learn by my mistakes. she always said that she wanted to stay alive long enough to see her kids have kids and 5 weeks after Grace was born she passed away. but 9 months after she left she gave me Joshua to replace her.
Sorry i got off and that tangent. Good Night
